Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other regulatory standards. Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and root cause analysis to identify risks and implement corrective actions promptly. Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed report writing, and communicate findings to management to prevent recurrence. Coordinate safety training sessions for employees on topics such as hazardous materials regulations, environmental management systems, first aid, CPR, OSHA compliance, and workplace safety best practices. Ensure compliance with environmental health standards by monitoring environmental regulatory compliance and managing environmental health programs. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training logs, and regulatory documentation to support audit readiness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health and environmental management. Conduct jobsite quality control for installed work Requirements Proven experience in construction environments with a strong understanding of excavation safety regulations including OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental compliance requirements. Certified in first aid, CPR, and familiar with Workers' Compensation law as it pertains to workplace injuries. Knowledge of environmental management systems (EMS) and experience in environmental regulatory compliance is essential. Demonstrated ability to conduct hazard analysis, root cause analysis, and report writing effectively. Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging training & development sessions on safety topics. Familiarity with occupational health expertise principles related to employee health (regulatory compliance standards). Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment dedicated to safety excellence.
