This is a hands-on, plant-floor-present role for the company's first dedicated EHS professional. You'll take a safety program with solid foundations and real momentum and build it into a system that's woven into daily operating decisions at every level, not bolted on to satisfy a regulator. 1910, and EPA regulations; some Lee Spring facilities fall under State OSHA Plans rather than Federal OSHA — this role is expected to build positive working relationships with whichever agency has jurisdiction at each site and help local leadership stay ahead of state-specific requirements Safety Program Development & Maintenance Develop and maintain written safety programs including Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, PPE, Emergency Action Plan, Hearing Conservation, and Respiratory Protection — for site leaders to implement and enforce day to day Build the company's Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) methodology and templates; train plant leadership to conduct and maintain them locally Set the equipment inspection standards — presses (mechanical, air foot, kick), grinders, coiling machines, wire formers, four-slide machines, hoists, and chemical process equipment; audit that local teams are executing them Build the chemical safety program (SDS library, HazCom compliance) and coordinate chemical waste disposal at a program level Machine Guarding & Engineering Controls Evaluate point-of-operation guarding on powered presses and document guarding decisions using formal hazard assessment methodology Partner with engineering and operations to specify guards, fixtures, light curtains, and pull-back devices Support press die change safety procedures and guarding reviews when new operations or tooling are introduced Training & Culture Design EHS training curricula (new hire orientation, annual refresher, operation-specific training, and supervisor training); delivery can be shared with trained local supervisors over time Lead investigation and root cause analysis for significant incidents; set the standard process supervisors use for near-misses and first aid Build a proactive safety culture through visible floor presence and open communication — not through enforcement alone Establish and support a Safety Committee structure at each site Environmental Management Own the chemical waste disposal program, hazardous waste manifesting, and EPA/state reporting Ensure wastewater discharge compliance for passivation, degreasing, and other process operations Maintain air emissions compliance with the paint spray booth and other regulated sources Multi-Plant Oversight Travel to Lee Spring facilities to audit, train, investigate incidents, and calibrate consistency Build standardized EHS documentation and inspection tools that the plants own day to day Coach plant managers and supervisors so EHS performance holds up when you're not on site Continuous Improvement & Management Systems (over time) Support standardized operational and management system practices across facilities Assist with future EMS initiatives, including potential ISO 14001 or comparable certification Partner with operations and continuous improvement leadership on audit readiness as the program matures Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated hands-on responsibility for OSHA compliance Deep working knowledge of

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, chemical process areas, and typical machine shop conditions. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, access all areas of the facility including elevated platforms and confined areas, and occasionally lift up to 35 lbs. Appropriate PPE will be provided and required.
