CMT 1, INC.
is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and support safety activities on active industrial construction projects. This role will work closely with project managers, supervisors, employees, subcontractors, and clients to maintain OSHA compliance, identify hazards, prevent incidents, and promote a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities Maintain a daily, visible safety presence on the jobsite. Enforce company, client, site, and OSHA safety requirements. Conduct daily site inspections and ensure timely corrective actions. Lead new-hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific training. Review Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task plans, permits, and safety documentation. Monitor high-risk work including LOTO, hot work, confined space entry, fall protection, lifting/rigging, line breaks, and equipment installation. Verify proper PPE use and stop work when an immediate serious hazard exists. Investigate incidents and near misses; identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate inspection, training, permit, and incident records. Coordinate safety requirements with subcontractors, client representatives, and project leadership. Promote hazard reporting, accountability, and continuous safety improvement. Qualifications Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working full-time at active construction sites and supporting field operations Willing and able to travel and stay near project sites across the U.S. East Coast for extended periods Able to perform routine site-support tasks, including moving project supplies and making material runs, with or without reasonable accommodation Valid driver's license preferred Ability to communicate in both English and Mandarin is strongly preferred Preferred Qualifications Completion of OSHA Course #510, Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry, is required. Three or more years of construction, industrial, manufacturing, or field safety experience. Working knowledge of OSHA construction and general industry standards. Experience with safety inspections, training, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make timely field decisions. Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and safety-recordkeeping skills. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Work Requirements Work primarily in an active industrial construction environment. Stand and walk for extended periods; use stairs and ladders as needed. Work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions. Wear all required personal protective equipment. Be available for overtime, weekend work, or adjusted hours as project needs require.
