Overview We are a dump truck and material hauling company seeking a Transportation Safety Manager to lead our safety culture and ensure full compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced trucking and construction-site environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can train new CDL drivers on dump truck operations, build strong relationships across the team, and drive continuous improvement in our safety program. Key Responsibilities Ensure safety is a top priority across all driver functions, dump truck operations, and daily job-site activity Foster a strong safety culture that drives full compliance with FMCSA regulations Provide leadership and support to company and contract drivers, maintaining open communication and strong working relationships Hire and Train where needed all new CDL drivers Implement and maintain the company's overall safety program, including yard and job-site safety Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes and driver performance Conduct accident/incident investigations and near-miss reporting specific to hauling operations Coordinate with dispatch and operations to ensure safety standards are met on active job sites and public roadways Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective under pressure Strong listening skills and ability to interpret information presented verbally or in writing Strong problem-solving skills — able to recognize, evaluate, and resolve issues independently Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to take direction, follow through, and work with minimal supervision Strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency reading maps and using Google Maps/navigation tools to route trucks to job sites Detail-oriented with a proactive, rather than reactive, approach to problem-solving Requirements Valid CDL license required Minimum 5 years of relevant driving and/or safety management experience, ideally including dump truck or heavy hauling experience Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance standards Experience with construction, aggregate, or material-hauling operations preferred

Pay:

$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
