The Site Safety Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing all safety policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience managing safety on large-scale commercial construction projects, with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite safety practices. Responsibilities Oversee daily safety operations and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, Dobco safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements. Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement. Maintain a visible presence in the field and work directly with subcontractors and trade partners to promote safe work practices. Conduct employee and subcontractor safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings. Monitor subcontractor compliance with site safety requirements and address deficiencies as needed. Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident reports, corrective actions, and training records. Assist with the development and implementation of project-specific safety plans. Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions while assisting with corrective action plans. Review daily activities, work plans, and site logistics to identify and mitigate safety risks. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA construction standards. Collaborate with project leadership to continuously improve jobsite safety performance. Qualifications 5+ years of construction safety experience required. Experience overseeing safety on commercial, institutional, or public works construction projects preferred. Prior experience on school, municipal, higher education, or other public-sector construction projects is a plus. Strong knowledge of OSHA construction regulations and safety best practices.
