About the Role

Epcon is looking for an experienced Safety Professional to support a large-scale construction project. You'll be the on-site safety lead for your assigned scope, making sure work is performed safely and in line with client, federal, state, and local requirements. This role suits someone who knows construction safety well, can hold contractors accountable, and can build a strong safety culture in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Enforce the client's site safety program and all applicable OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations

Conduct daily field inspections and audits, identify hazards, and ensure corrective actions are completed

Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits to work, and pre-task plans

Lead or support safety orientations, toolbox talks, and site safety meetings

Investigate incidents and near misses, conduct root cause analysis, and track corrective actions to close-out

Monitor subcontractor compliance and coach crews on safe work practices

Oversee high-risk activities such as excavation, lifting and rigging, working at heights, confined space, hot work, and energy isolation (LOTO)

Maintain safety documentation, training records, and inspection logs

Prepare and submit safety metrics and reports to project leadership and the client

Support emergency preparedness and response planning

Minimum Qualifications

Certification (at least one required):

Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

Associate Safety Professional (ASP)

Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)

Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)

Graduate or Chartered Member of IOSH

Safety Trained Supervisor - Construction (STS-C)

Or a Bachelor's degree or higher in an EHS or EHS-related field

Training (at least one, completed within the last 3 years):

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training

NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma

Experience:

At least 5 years of safety experience on construction projects of similar size and type (pharma, data center, refinery)

Additional Requirements:

Must pass a competency assessment prior to assignment

Must meet all qualification, education, and certification requirements under local laws and regulations where the project is located

Preferred Qualifications

Experience on large commercial, industrial, or infrastructure builds

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence field crews and contractor leadership

Proficiency with safety reporting and incident management software

First Aid/CPR certification
