Wadsworth Health Laboratory Campus Project Lead Safety on One of New York's Most Significant Construction Projects We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead all safety operations for a major health sciences construction project in Albany, NY. This is an opportunity to play a critical role on a high-profile project while partnering with construction leaders, contractors, and clients to ensure every team member returns home safely each day. The ideal candidate is a proactive safety professional with experience managing safety programs on large-scale construction projects. You will be responsible for driving a world-class safety culture, mentoring project teams, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. What You'll Do Lead all project safety initiatives and champion a proactive, "safety-first" culture. Oversee contractor safety compliance, including site audits, inspections, and safety documentation reviews. Facilitate pre-construction planning activities, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Task Analyses (STAs), and risk assessments. Partner with project teams to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve site safety performance. Conduct accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures. Monitor and analyze safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators, providing actionable recommendations to project leadership. Deliver safety training programs aligned with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client requirements. Maintain accurate safety records and reporting through company safety management systems. Serve as the project's primary safety liaison with clients, contractors, and insurance representatives. Mentor and develop safety staff, ensuring consistent execution of safety processes and best practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives and help strengthen company-wide safety programs. Qualifications Required 5+ years of construction safety experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and hazard identification practices. Experience conducting incident investigations, safety audits, and corrective action planning. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software. Ability to work effectively in an active construction environment. Preferred Experience supporting large-scale construction projects such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, data center, semiconductor, industrial, or laboratory facilities. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

BCSP certification preferred:

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) OSHA training/instructor credentials. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $77.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
