RW Dake Construction is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead and enhance our company-wide safety program. This position plays a critical role in fostering a culture where safety is a core value, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, reducing risk, and supporting the successful execution of projects across our footprint. The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety professional who thrives in the field, builds strong relationships with project teams, and is passionate about creating safe, productive work environments.Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead and manage the company's safety program across active construction projects, offices, and field operations. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and best practices that meet OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company standards. Perform regular jobsite inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented and documented. Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to develop site-specific safety plans, pre-task analyses, and hazard mitigation strategies. Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage events, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions to completion. Deliver safety training, coaching, and education programs to employees, supervisors, and subcontractors. Maintain accurate safety documentation, including OSHA logs, training records, inspections, permits, and compliance reports. Monitor and evaluate subcontractor safety performance and compliance. Represent the company in client meetings, regulatory inspections, and project safety discussions. Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or practices are identified. Analyze safety trends and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen company safety performance. Promote and reinforce a positive safety culture that emphasizes accountability, communication, and employee engagement. Foster a proactive safety culture that supports operational excellence, quality workmanship, and successful project delivery.Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of safety management experience with a General Contractor. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and industry best practices. OSHA 30 certification required;OSHA 510
within 6 months of hiring. Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, project teams, clients, and subcontractors. Strong organizational, investigative, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Ability to travel 20%, occasional night or weekend travel.Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Additional OSHA certifications. Experience working in union construction environments. Bilingual (English/Spanish).Physical Requirements:
Ability to regularly visit active construction sites and navigate varying terrain and work conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements associated with computer and administrative tasks.
