Position requirements:
Serves as Safety Director and reports directly to company president, CFO and general manager. Participates in company management meetings. Responsible for current/new DOT and OSHA safety rules and regulations at the federal, state and local level as well as regularly promoting field operation compliance. Developing, implementing and maintaining of employee safety training programs; including but not limited to new hire safety orientations, OSHA compliance and Department of Transportation regulations. Conducting and oversight of training, inspections, and safety audits in order ensure the compliance with the environmental and occupational health and safety requirements that include processes, equipment, and facilities. Train and mentor field operational management in safety processes, as well as providing oversight for all operational safety training. Train and mentor new drivers and laborers. Developing, updating and managing workplace safety procedures, programs and policies including hazard assessments which identify hazards and corrective action plans. Direct monthly safety meetings on our industry's best practices and safety policies. Reviews incidents for safety violations and corrective actions necessary to improve incident occurrences. Handle other associate functions as determined by the company president, CFO and general manager. This role is a 60/40 split in truck training/office duties.
Required Qualifications:
3-5+ years' experience in risk management, Fleet safety management with a strong background in the Trucking Industry Strong knowledge in both DOT (vehicle and personal requirements) and OSHA (Facilities and Personal safety as it applies to the waste industry) Strong communication and leadership skills CDL holder
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate in Risk Management certification Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Salary:
$50,000 - 70,000/year + Bonus Potential based on predetermined performance factors
