Job Title Quality & Food Safety 2nd shift Supervisor Company DeIorio Foods, Inc. Department Quality Assurance Reports To Director of Quality & Food Safety Classification Hourly Non - Exempt Direct Reports Quality Assurance Technicians Quality Assurance Leads (if applicable) Backup Coverage Director of Quality & Food Safety Position Summary The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of the Quality Assurance Department while ensuring the Company's commitment to producing safe, legal, and high-quality food products. This position provides leadership to the Quality team by maintaining compliance with all food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements while supporting efficient manufacturing operations. As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, the Quality Assurance Supervisor is expected to think critically, solve problems proactively, and continuously improve quality systems, inspection processes, and food safety programs. This role partners closely with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce quality risks, improve operational efficiencies, and support a 24-hour, 7-day-per-week, multi-line frozen food manufacturing operation . The successful candidate must balance food safety with operational excellence while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development. Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesLeadership Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Quality Assurance Technicians. Promote accountability while fostering teamwork and professional development. Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action when necessary. Build a culture focused on food safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. Food Safety & Product Quality Ensure products consistently meet Company, customer, regulatory, and food safety standards. Oversee in-process inspections, finished product evaluations, and quality verification activities. Verify compliance with product specifications, process controls, and quality standards. Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), Preventive Controls, allergen controls, sanitation verification, and environmental monitoring activities.

GMPs HACCP Food Defense Food Fraud Customer Requirements Internal Policies and Procedures Maintain audit readiness at all times. Audits & Continuous Improvement Lead internal audits and participate in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits. Conduct root cause analysis for quality concerns and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Think critically to identify opportunities to improve quality systems, inspection methods, documentation, and manufacturing processes. Work collaboratively across departments to reduce product defects, improve efficiencies, minimize waste, and strengthen food safety systems. Analyze quality trends and recommend process improvements using data-driven decision making. Operational Support Support a 24/7 manufacturing environment by ensuring Quality Assurance programs facilitate production while maintaining the highest food safety standards. Partner with Production and Sanitation to resolve quality concerns quickly and minimize production downtime. Assist with product startups, changeovers, validations, and troubleshooting. Participate in new product launches and process improvement initiatives. Documentation & Reporting Review and maintain accurate quality records. Ensure corrective actions, deviations, inspections, and investigations are properly documented. Prepare reports for senior leadership regarding quality metrics, customer complaints, audit findings, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain compliance with document control procedures.

SOPs Food Defense Allergen Controls Quality Standards Regulatory Changes Develop future Quality leaders within the department. Additional Responsibilities Perform additional duties as assigned. Participate in cross-functional projects supporting Company objectives. QualificationsEducation High School Diploma required. Experience Minimum 3-5 years of Quality Assurance experience within food manufacturing. Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Experience within an SQF-certified manufacturing facility preferred.

GMPs Environmental Monitoring Allergen Controls CAPA Programs Root Cause Analysis Internal Auditing Leadership Competencies The successful candidate will demonstrate: Critical Thinking Strategic Problem Solving Continuous Improvement Mindset Strong Leadership Decision Making Coaching and Employee Development Excellent Communication Organizational Skills Analytical Thinking Collaboration Across Departments Preferred Certifications HACCP Certified SQF Practitioner PCQI Internal Auditor Certification Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (preferred) Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with exposure to cold temperatures, flour dust, moving equipment, sanitation chemicals, and production noise. PPE required at all times. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as required to support production. Leadership Expectations The Quality Assurance Supervisor is expected to be more than a compliance leader. This individual is a strategic partner responsible for protecting food safety while helping improve manufacturing processes, reducing quality risks, and supporting operational excellence. The successful candidate must think critically, solve problems proactively, and collaborate across departments to develop innovative solutions that improve product quality, strengthen food safety systems, and support the efficient operation of a 24-hour, 7-day-per-week, multi-line frozen food manufacturing facility . Through leadership, continuous improvement, and sound decision-making, the Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a vital role in protecting DeIorio Foods' reputation while supporting customer satisfaction and sustainable operational success.
