JOB SUMMARY
Seeking a Safety Manager for a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures the safety of all personnel by managing safety programs and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Program Management:
Develop and maintain safety policies for manufacturing operations. Ensure compliance with OSHA and CLIENT protocols. Conduct regular audits, incident investigations, and oversee the monthly Safety Committee.
Training & Education:
Deliver safety training for all employees, including new hires. Lead emergency drills and proactive safety initiatives.
Reporting & Compliance:
Investigate root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions. Maintain detailed safety records and report performance metrics to management. Coordinate with regulatory agencies (EPA, etc.) and manage permit renewals.
Continuous Improvement:
Foster a proactive safety culture and enhance worker engagement in safety activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Certification:
CSP or CLIENT Associate Safety Professional (ASP) highly desirable.
Experience:
5+ years in safety management within heavy industrial manufacturing.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of OSHA, risk assessment, and excellent leadership/communication skills.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Warehouse/scrap yard; exposed to elements (heat/cold), noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
Physical:
Must be able to walk/stand 95% of the day; regular lifting, bending, and use of computers/radios.
PPE:
Required use of safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, and hard hats.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Requires hands-on involvement in plant operations. Occasional travel or off-hours work may be required for emergencies or inspections.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
