Job Description

Cooper Farms is a family-owned farm and food company based in Northwest Ohio for over 85 years. A commitment to teamwork and quality has made us one of the top turkey, hog and egg companies in the U.S. and awarded the company and its team an excellent reputation. Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Our St. Henry Harvesting plant prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Senior Safety Manager to join our team in Mercer County, OH. The primary goal of this position is to oversee the implementation of safety programs across multiple facilities and act as a liaison between the Corporate Safety Manager and safety departments.
SHIFT HOURS
Monday through Friday
STARTING RATE
Commensurate with experience
ADDITIONAL PAY
Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job Functions:
Support safety departments to establish and implement safety programs to ensure a safe workplace for all team membersWork to standardize safety programs across facilities assigned to create a more effective and efficient company safety programMonitor the effectiveness of all safety programs and make recommendations or implement necessary changesResponsible for the leadership and providing guidance to the safety departments.

Maintain OSHA compliance in all areas related to safety across facilitiesWork with the Occupational Health Nurse, supervisors, and managers in identifying, addressing and eliminating all safety-related concerns and hazardsMaintain an active role in product safety, legality, and quality systemsCoordinate contractor qualification requirements and assure proper training is conducted for contractors and vendors
