Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Our St. Henry Harvesting plant prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Senior Safety Manager to join our team in Mercer County, OH. The primary goal of this position is to oversee the implementation of safety programs across multiple facilities and act as a liaison between the Corporate Safety Manager and safety departments.

Job Functions:

Support safety departments to establish and implement safety programs to ensure a safe workplace for all team members Work to standardize safety programs across facilities assigned to create a more effective and efficient company safety program Monitor the effectiveness of all safety programs and make recommendations or implement necessary changes Responsible for the leadership and providing guidance to the safety departments. Maintain OSHA compliance in all areas related to safety across facilities Work with the Occupational Health Nurse, supervisors, and managers in identifying, addressing and eliminating all safety-related concerns and hazards Maintain an active role in product safety, legality, and quality systems Coordinate contractor qualification requirements and assure proper training is conducted for contractors and vendors Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Safety, or related field and/or no less than 3 years' experience in a safety position in a manufacturing environment Strong leadership skills and the ability to safely lead a team to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of safety specifications and practices, production goals, and scheduling needs are a necessity Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels to strive towards continuous improvement is a must in this position. Must be self-directed and able to learn documentation programs independently Must be detail-oriented, able to accomplish tasks through the cooperation of other people and be experienced in some type of document control system The candidate must have knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements or the commitment to take the necessary training in a timely manner.
