Job Description Safety Engineer Opportunity, TIMET Toronto, OH Maintain safety and health measures to ensure compliance with TIMET Safety and Health Programs. Coordinate safety and health initiatives, projects, corrective actions, and incident investigations. Develop an ongoing process that supports Toronto's Safety and Health Policy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary responsibility will be to evaluate and assess plant floor activities for unsafe risks and acts.

Utilize Safety Statistics to direct risk assessments.

Perform Ergonomic Assessments and implement tools and equipment as to eliminate risk.

Review Daily Risk Notifications. Take action to remove the hazard.

Demonstrated Human Performance Advocate with ability to coach/train employees.

Perform Machine Guard Risk Assessments and coordinate recommendations.

Manage Contractor ISN System.

Develop and implement Safety and Health programs for the site as well as any related training material that may be required.

Coordinate Risk Insurer Recommendations to completion.

Perform daily housekeeping audits and provide recommendations.

Assist Toronto EHS Manager as needed to ensure safety beyond compliance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in training to continue development of skills and knowledge

Active member of Emergency Response Team and Fire Brigade

Partner with Operations to proactively identify and mitigate risks

Active member of the Joint Safety Committee.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in safety or engineering, Master's preferred, with minimum of five (5) years of experience. Desire to obtain safety certification.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Ability to Communicate Effectively with Employees, Management, and Outside Contactors

Ability to Work in Union Environment

Knowledge of OSHA and Industrial Accepted Safe Work Practices
