Shift/Schedules:

Monday-Friday 8a-5p but may be required to respond to emergency situations pertaining to Safety.

Safety & Compliance:

Develop, implement, and maintain the company's overall safety program. Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and applicable state regulations. Monitor compliance with hours-of-service, driver qualification, vehicle inspection, drug/alcohol testing, and other applicable requirements. Maintain and audit safety-related records and documentation. Monitor the company's CSA/SMS performance and identify areas requiring corrective action. Coordinate responses to regulatory audits and investigations. Stay current on changes to federal and state transportation regulations.

Driver & Vehicle Safety:

Establish and enforce safe-driving policies and procedures. Conduct driver safety meetings, orientations, and refresher training. Oversee team to monitor driver performance, including speeding, hard braking, following distance, distracted driving, and other safety indicators. Review driver qualification files and required credentials. Investigate driver safety violations and recommend corrective action Oversee compliance with pre-trip, post-trip, and periodic inspection requirements. Work with the maintenance department to address safety-related defects. Coordinate with maintenance team that all equipment meet applicable safety standards. Review roadside inspection results and coordinate corrective actions Accident & Incident Management Manage the company's accident and incident reporting process. Oversee investigation of vehicle accidents, injuries, cargo incidents, and other safety events. Conduct root-cause analysis and identify preventive measures. Oversee coordination with insurance carriers, claims representatives, law enforcement, and other parties when appropriate. Ensure accident reports and supporting documentation are completed accurately and promptly. Track accident trends and develop corrective action plans. What we'd like to see 3-5 years of experience in safety management in the transportation industry is preferred. Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment. Excellent organizational and motivational skills. Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability. Exemplary leadership skills BS/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred. Valid qualification in occupational health and safety preferred.

Pay:

$65,347.34 - $75,000.00 per year
