Senior Director of Quality - Oregon Coast They are open to Interim, Interim-Perm, or Perm $131,737 - $208,230 annually Build the Quality program. Shape the strategy. Make a visible impact. A 172-bed community hospital on the Oregon coast is looking for a seasoned Senior Director of Quality to help lead a major organizational transformation. This is not a role where you inherit a mature program and maintain the status quo. The hospital has a new, aligned executive team , real momentum around improvement, and a clear need for an experienced Quality leader who can come in, build structure, strengthen accountability, and create systems that will move the organization forward. If you are the kind of leader who can walk into an environment and say, "Here's what we need to build, and here's how we're going to do it," this could be an outstanding opportunity. The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer , with a dotted-line relationship to the Chief Nursing Officer , this leader will oversee: Quality Patient Safety Risk Regulatory Infection Control You will lead a team of approximately 6 and partner closely with executive, medical, nursing, and operational leadership across the hospital. The facility is licensed for 172 beds , with an average daily census of approximately 70-90 . This position was originally structured at the Chief level , and the scope remains broad, visible, and highly influential. What They Need They need an experienced acute-care hospital Quality leader who knows how to build. Someone who is comfortable being hands-on initially, getting into the details, identifying gaps, and putting the right processes, expectations, and accountability in place.
Key priorities include:
Building stronger Performance Improvement programs Establishing clear hospital-wide quality goals and improvement initiatives Strengthening Joint Commission readiness Ensuring compliance with CMS reporting requirements Creating a more systematic approach to inpatient hospital quality reporting Developing an executive-level dashboard or scorecard to track performance Driving improvement around patient safety, surgical site infections, and other quality metrics Creating sustainable processes and stronger organizational accountability Partnering effectively with physicians, nursing leaders, executives, and frontline teams Providing direction while empowering the Quality team to lead Background Significant acute-care hospital Quality leadership experience required Strong background in Performance Improvement Deep understanding of CMS quality reporting Experience with Joint Commission Proven ability to build programs and drive meaningful process change Oregon healthcare experience strongly preferred RN preferred, but not required Master's in Public Health preferred This is best suited for a leader who is confident, collaborative, hands-on, and forward-thinking . The leadership culture they are building is very much "we before me." They want someone who can create accountability, set direction, and develop a strong team without micromanaging. Why This Role Stands Out You get to build something. This is a true build-and-transform opportunity. You will have the ability to shape how Quality operates across the hospital rather than simply inherit someone else's finished program. The executive team wants change. Leadership recognizes where improvement is needed and appears strongly aligned around making the hospital better. The role has real visibility. With oversight of Quality, Patient Safety, Risk, Regulatory, and Infection Control, this leader will have meaningful influence across the organization. The community is invested in the hospital's success. The hospital serves a community of approximately 20,000 people that has fought hard to maintain access to local healthcare and deeply values the hospital's future. And the location is hard to beat. Live and work on the Oregon coast , with beautiful surroundings and a consistently moderate climate. This hospital is going through significant positive change, and they need a Quality leader who sees that as an opportunity. If you are energized by the chance to build, improve, and transform rather than simply maintain the status quo, we would love to speak with you.
