Job Description
Eco Solution is seeking an experienced, safety-first Operations Manager to lead our Chemical Rail Transload facility. This role is responsible for direct oversight of daily bulk chemical loading and unloading activities, guaranteeing strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations while coordinating operations with railroad partners and chemical clients. The successful candidate will manage a skilled team of transload operators, optimize terminal throughput, and maintain an unwavering focus on risk reduction and regulatory performance.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership:
Plan, schedule, and supervise all inbound and outbound bulk liquid and dry chemical transfers between railcars and tanker trucks. Ensure accuracy of rail car setups, loading profiles, and manifests.Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain 100% adherence to OSHA, EPA, FRA, and DOT hazardous materials requirements. Lead preparation for regulatory audits and oversee incident investigations and corrective actions when needed.Team Management:
Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor staff. Build a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and performance reviews.Client & Rail Logistics:
Coordinate daily track rosters and switches with Class I railroads; act as the primary contact for customers regarding inventory, throughput metrics, and product quality testing.Facility & Asset Management:
Oversee preventative maintenance programs and capital planning for pumps, compressors, trackmobiles, containment, and related infrastructure.Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
3-5+ years supervisory or management experience in rail transloading, chemical processing, refining, or bulk liquid logistics.Regulatory Knowledge:
Deep understanding of DOT (49 CFR), OSHA, FRA, and hazardous materials protocols.Certifications:
HAZWOPER
40-hour preferred; active TWIC card required.Skills & Education:
Proficiency with logistics tracking software, inventory management, and Microsoft Office. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or similar preferred; equivalent industrial management experience considered.Working Conditions & Benefits Environment:
Split between office duties and active field supervision in an outdoor railyard exposed to varying weather conditions.Schedule:
Primarily Monday-Friday day shift with 24/7 on-call availability for operational emergencies and train schedule changes.Compensation:
