Safety Construction Manager (Structural Steel) Master Steel, Hardeeville, SC (In Person) Full Time | $75,000 to $95,000 per year | Monday to Friday | Relocation Assistance Available | Immediate Opening Position Summary Master Steel, an AISC Certified structural steel fabricator and erector in Hardeeville, South Carolina, is hiring a Safety Manager to own safety across our fabrication shop, yard, and field erection projects. We are looking for someone who has spent years running safety inside an AISC Certified fabrication and erection operation and knows the work firsthand, from weld stations and overhead cranes to connecting and decking at height. This person serves as the company safety authority with leadership, general contractors, and OSHA, and reports to the HR Manager. This is an immediate opening. Relocation assistance is available. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership Own the company safety program for shop, yard, and field operations, including written programs, training, inspections, incident response, and OSHA recordkeeping Represent Master Steel on safety with leadership, general contractors, insurance carriers, and OSHA, and keep customer prequalification profiles (ISNetworld, Avetta) current Shop Safety Lead safety for fabrication operations including fitting and welding, beam line and CNC equipment, plate processing, overhead cranes and rigging, material handling, and blast and paint Maintain written programs for lockout/tagout, hot work, machine guarding, crane and rigging, mobile equipment, hazard communication, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and PPE Manage exposure monitoring for welding fumes, hexavalent chromium, manganese, silica, and noise, and act on the results Field & Erection Safety Lead steel erection safety under

logs, and coordinate workers' compensation claims and return to work with Human Resources Track and report TRIR, DART, EMR, and open corrective actions to leadership, and lead the safety committee Minimum Qualifications Four (4) or more years of progressive safety experience, including significant hands-on experience in an AISC Certified structural steel fabrication and erection operation Direct experience with both shop safety (OSHA 1910) and steel erection safety (OSHA 1926, including Subpart R) OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification Demonstrated experience building and improving safety programs, not just administering them Credible, hands-on presence with skilled trades and field crews; strong documentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to project sites across the Southeast, with occasional overnight travel Preferred Qualifications CSP, CHST, ASP, or equivalent professional safety certification OSHA 500 or 510 authorized trainer status Experience with crane and rigging programs, lift planning, and general contractor safety audits Prior experience supervising or directing other safety staff Bilingual (English/Spanish) Work Environment Office, fabrication shop, yard, and active construction site environments; regularly climb ladders, access elevated work, traverse uneven surfaces, and wear required PPE Exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and active fabrication and erection operations; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds Compensation, Schedule & Relocation Full time, exempt position reporting to the HR Manager, based in Hardeeville, South Carolina, with a benefits package $75,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and certifications Relocation assistance available for candidates moving to the Hardeeville, Bluffton, Savannah, or Hilton Head area Monday through Friday, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours based on shop and field operations Immediate opening.
