Start Date:
Oct 2026 About Buckeye Rescue Buckeye Rescue provides standby confined space rescue, hole watch, and site safety services to manufacturing, aerospace, and industrial clients across Northeast Ohio. We staff rescue teams on plant outages, turnarounds, and construction projects — the work our clients legally cannot perform without a qualified rescue service on site. The business is owner-operated and profitable. We are at the point where growth is limited by the owner's available hours, not by demand. The Opportunity We are looking for a General Manager to take over day-to-day operation of the business, and over time to take on the commercial side — quoting, client development, and growth. This is a build-and-own role, not a caretaker role. The base is intentionally modest and part-time, because the business is seasonal and because a meaningful portion of the compensation is equity in the company . The person who takes this job should want a stake in what they build, not just a paycheck for hours worked. If we scale revenue to justify it, this role converts to full-time with a corresponding increase in base compensation. That outcome depends substantially on the person in this seat.
Phase One:
Run the Operation Your first priority is taking operational ownership so the business runs without the owner in every decision. Scheduling and dispatch — staff technicians to jobs, manage coverage across overlapping projects, handle call-offs and schedule changes Workforce management — recruit, onboard, and schedule field technicians; track certifications, medical evaluations, fit tests, and expiration dates Job execution — pre-job planning with clients, confirm scope and site requirements, ensure crews arrive prepared, resolve issues in the field Equipment readiness — inventory, inspection schedules, calibration, repair, restocking of response vehicles and trailers Client site compliance — maintain prequalification profiles (ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce), insurance certificates, and client-specific onboarding requirements Documentation and safety program — permits, field reports, incident reporting, training records, and program upkeep Back office support — job costing, invoicing inputs, payroll data, vendor coordination, and working with our bookkeeper
