And our Corporate Safety team is responsible for making sure safety is top of mind in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees. Job overview and responsibilities This position is responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational execution of United's Drug Abatement program across all United locations. This role ensures strict compliance with DOT and FAA regulations while overseeing a large team of field representatives and managers in the delivery of a 24/7 testing operation. The position drives continuous improvement through strategic initiatives, technology enhancements, and process optimization. Additionally, this role serves as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, legal teams, labor relations, and vendors, to maintain program integrity and operational excellence. Operational Excellence
- Oversee the performance and execution of United's Drug & Alcohol Testing program, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance Support 24/7 operations and respond to operational issues as they arise Team Leadership
- Provide leadership and guidance to a large team of field representatives and managers across all hub locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment Strategic Planning and Execution
- Lead strategic initiatives for the Drug Abatement program, including technology and process improvements Regulatory Oversight
- Maintain Designated Employer Representative (DER) certification and regulatory oversight rotation Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including United's Employee Assistance Program, Legal, Labor Relations, Operating Workgroups, HR, vendors, and regulatory bodies Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience Proven track record with 5+ years of leadership experience, effectively managing and mentoring direct reports to achieve organizational goals.
