Job Description

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead all aspects of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and risk management. This role is responsible for developing and executing EHS programs that promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support continuous operational improvement across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive manufacturing experience, strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations, and a passion for driving employee engagement and continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities Lead all environmental, health, and safety programs for the manufacturing facility. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and occupational safety regulations. Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and training programs. Manage OSHA recordkeeping, incident reporting, investigations, and regulatory documentation. Administer the Workers' Compensation program, including claim management, return-to-work coordination, and communication with third-party administrators. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses throughout the facility. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety performance. Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to identify opportunities for risk reduction and continuous improvement. Facilitate safety committee meetings and communicate key performance metrics and improvement initiatives to leadership. Ensure contractors and visitors comply with all applicable site safety requirements. Support environmental compliance activities, including regulatory reporting, waste management, and sustainability initiatives. Maintain required EHS records, documentation, permits, and compliance files. Monitor EHS performance metrics and develop action plans to achieve company safety objectives. Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, and leadership visibility. Education Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Experience Minimum of 10 years of progressive Environmental Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous leadership experience managing site-wide EHS programs. Experience with environmental and occupational safety management systems preferred. Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent are preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable environmental and workplace safety regulations. Experience leading incident investigations and root cause analysis. Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard recognition, and injury prevention. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Experience analyzing safety data and developing actionable improvement plans. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams.
