SUMMARY The Safety Manager Floater provides temporary onsite safety leadership and support at customer locations during scheduled time off, rotational breaks, vacancies, or other absences of the regularly assigned Safety Manager. This position ensures continuity of safety operations by conducting inspections, monitoring regulatory and customer compliance, addressing workplace hazards, supporting incident investigations, maintaining required documentation, and partnering with site leadership and employees to promote a strong safety culture. The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to travel to various customer sites as operational needs arise.

• Support and actively promote site safety programs, daily field safety activities, and a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct field inspections, behavioral observations, and hazard assessments across all active work areas.
• Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, corrective action follow-up, and compliance initiatives.
• Reinforce compliance with applicable federal, state, and client-specific safety regulations and site standards.
• Serve as a visible, active safety presence in the field — identifying risks, communicating concerns, and driving corrective action.
• Coordinate employee safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training activities.
• Track safety metrics, training records, and regulatory documentation as required. First Aid Response (Protocol-Directed)
• Provide first aid response to workplace injuries and medical events in accordance with physician-written standing orders.
• Perform authorized interventions including hemorrhage control, wound care, CPR/AED, musculoskeletal stabilization, and environmental emergency response.
• Escalate all incidents beyond defined protocol scope to HV's case management team immediately.
• Document all first aid interventions through HV's designated documentation system at time of event.
• Coordinate with HV case management on transport decisions, clinic referrals, and follow-up care.
• Maintain and inspect on-site first aid supplies, AED equipment, and bleeding control kits. Client & Site Coordination
• Work closely with site leadership and the client Safety Manager to maintain safety program integrity and site compliance.
• Communicate with HV's Safety Services Operations Manager on staffing gaps, performance concerns, and site developments.

Work Hours:

40-50 per week (Monday-Friday and Saturday as Required)

Rotation:

5 weeks on 1 week off

REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Emergency Management, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant industry experience will be considered. Experience
• Minimum 3 years of field safety experience in construction, mining, or heavy industrial environments required.
• Experience with regulatory safety compliance, hazard recognition, and incident investigation across applicable jurisdictions.
• Experience supporting or coordinating safety training programs preferred.
• Emergency medical response, first responder, military medic, or occupational first aid experience is a strong advantage. Core Competencies

Safety Certification Requirements All candidates must hold one of the following active Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certifications, or meet the alternative qualification standard described below. Certification must be current and verifiable at time of offer and maintained throughout employment.
