The Safety Manager conducts inspections and enforces adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. The Safety Manager plans, implements and coordinates safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions. Responsibilities Administers and maintains safety, environmental and health programs to meet all government and OSHA codes and standards. Monitors compliance with policies, work processes and regulatory requirements on projects including auditing those projects. Maintains and applies knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes. Provides employees with knowledge and skills necessary to recognize hazards and perform their job safely and effectively. Recommends process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards. Inspects facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. Installs safety devices on machinery, or directs device installation. Investigates industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures. Orders suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health or safety. Recommends measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials. Inspects or evaluates workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations. Develops or maintains hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, continuous atmosphere monitoring, ventilation surveys, or asbestos management plans. Maintains documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes. Files appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies. Conducts or directs the internal investigation of compliance issues. Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation. Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required.

• Education and Training - Bachelors degree or equivalent is preferred but not required. Associates Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and a minimum of 5 years related experience.
• Must have knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Must have knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
• Must have knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
• Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This may include customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Must have knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders and agency rules.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.

Ability to write reports and correspondence. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoke words and sentences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Must be able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

• At least 5 years experience or as deemed sufficient by management.
• Familiarity of mobile phones, computers, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ISNetworld, and other software.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand,walk,sit,use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• This job is usually in a professional office environment.
