Job Description

Overview A global logistics and trading leader is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and manage safety-related projects across North American operations. This is a high-urgency role focused on enhancing safety performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and minimizing risk. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be a hands-on "driver" responsible for reinforcing a culture of safety excellence at the ground level using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) principles.
Duties Safety Leadership :
Lead the immediate implementation of Safety Management Systems following global occupational health and safety standards (High Emergency Status).
Field Inspection :
Visit manufacturing and logistics sites to identify safety hazards, evaluate risks, and perform job hazard analyses.
Incident Management :
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and the implementation of corrective actions.
TPS Integration :
Ensure that safety key points are integrated into
Standardized Work Engagement Programs :
Establish and lead employee engagement initiatives, including safety committees and Hiyari Hatto (near-miss) reporting programs.
KPI Monitoring :
Establish and monitor facility safety KPIs using PDCA principles to ensure sustainable safety results.
Qualifications Education :
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Experience :
5+ years of experience in a safety-related role within a manufacturing environment.
Compliance :
Comprehensive knowledge of
OSHA/EPA
regulations and risk assessment.
Certifications :
CSP, ASP, or CIH certification is strongly desired.
Languages :
English speaker; Japanese or Spanish language skills are a significant plus.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
