As a Construction Spotter, you will play a vital role in monitoring site activities, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations. Your keen eye and commitment to workplace safety will help prevent accidents, protect workers, and promote a secure working environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects while upholding the highest standards of environmental and occupational health compliance. Duties Maintain constant awareness of construction site activities, focusing on the movement of heavy machinery and personnel to prevent accidents. Monitor compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental management systems. Communicate effectively with equipment operators, supervisors, and safety personnel to alert them of potential risks or unsafe behaviors. Conduct regular inspections for environmental regulatory compliance, including checking for hazardous materials handling and environmental health standards. Assist in hazard identification by performing root cause analysis of incidents or near misses, contributing to ongoing safety improvements. Support training and development initiatives related to workplace safety, environmental health, and regulatory compliance standards. Prepare detailed reports documenting site observations, safety violations, incident investigations, and corrective actions taken. Experience Proven experience in construction safety monitoring or as a construction spotter preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental regulatory compliance standards, hazardous materials regulations, and workplace safety protocols. Familiarity with environmental management systems (EMS) and environmental health practices in a manufacturing or construction setting. First aid certification, CPR certification, and knowledge of workers' compensation law are highly desirable. Strong report writing skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis effectively. Prior experience supporting occupational health initiatives or environmental health programs is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work safely in dynamic environments while maintaining attention to detail and regulatory standards.
