Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)

Salary:

$110,000-$135,000 per year Doyon Government Group (DGG) is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for USACE and NAVFAC federal construction projects. Qualified candidates must have at least three years of experience serving as an SSHO on USACE or NAVFAC projects, an OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, and strong knowledge of

EM 385-1-1.

Actual compensation will depend on experience, certifications, project requirements, location, and internal position level. What You'll Do Manage Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA), and site-specific safety plans Conduct daily jobsite inspections and enforce EM 385-1-1, OSHA, contract, and company safety requirements Lead safety orientations, daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site safety meetings Monitor employee and subcontractor safety compliance Coordinate with the Superintendent and Quality Control Manager before beginning new Definable Features of Work (DFOW) Investigate incidents, accidents, injuries, and near misses and implement corrective actions Maintain required safety reports and documentation in RMS, QCS, or other project systems Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or practices are identified Required Qualifications Seven or more years of professional construction experience Three or more years serving as the designated SSHO on USACE or NAVFAC construction projects Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification or approved equivalent Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and federal construction safety requirements Experience developing and managing APPs and AHAs Experience conducting inspections, incident investigations, safety meetings, and subcontractor safety oversight Proficiency with

USACE RMS, NAVFAC
