SUMMARY:
The Safety Supervisor works directly with Operations, Quality, Human Resources, and other facility teams to provide technical expertise, leadership, and support for the site's safety culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to, the following: Administer, support, and maintain facility safety programs and policies Continuous safety evaluation for facility, including but not limited to machine guarding, ergonomics, slip-trip-fall hazards, and electrical safety. Collaborate with facility management on solutions for operational and safety concerns. Educate team members on the principles of George's safety culture. Conduct incident analyses including root cause analysis and fish bone diagrams. Administer Industrial hygiene testing. Support and coordinate safety training for facility teams. Complete necessary paperwork to satisfy regulatory requirements or program requirements. Partner with management, supervisors, and team members to ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Required High School Diploma 4+ years of experience in health and safety OR a bachelor's degree in a safety related field of study Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal Basic knowledge of OSHA standards - both regulatory requirements and hazard identification Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft applications (Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.) Preferred Professional Certification 1 year of safety experience in food manufacturing Bilingual preferred George's is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to, among others, individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans.
