Job Description

Job Title:

Construction Site Safety Manager Role Overview We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and dedicated Construction Site Safety Manager to champion our safety culture and ensure an incident-free work environment across active construction projects. In this role, you will partner closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and field personnel to develop safety plans, monitor daily jobsite conditions, conduct rigorous safety audits, and enforce compliance with all federal, state, and local safety standards. This is a critical operational safety leadership role for an independent professional who excels at hazard identification, incident prevention, and cross-functional communication. You will lead safety training initiatives, facilitate toolbox talks, investigate incidents, and maintain comprehensive safety documentation. If you possess a strong background in construction safety management and EHS compliance, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Safety Planning & Program Administration

•

Plan Development:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Project Safety Plans, Roadmaps, and site-specific hazard mitigation strategies.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as industry standards (OSHA, NFPA, NESC, ASTM, ANSI).

•

Incident Management:

Lead thorough incident and injury investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

•

Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare and submit accurate weekly safety reports, including Total Case Incident Reports (TCIR), audits, and compliance metrics. Field Monitoring & Training

•

Jobsite Audits:

Conduct regular on-site safety audits and inspections; monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety rules and PPE requirements.

•

Safety Meetings & Training:

Facilitate weekly toolbox talks, safety meetings, and specialized training sessions to foster a strong, proactive safety culture across all project teams.

•

Risk Mitigation:

Collaborate proactively with project managers, superintendents, and field staff to identify emerging safety risks and resolve unsafe conditions immediately. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Qualifications

•

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety [EHS], Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred).

•

Experience Baseline:

Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in construction safety management and active jobsite environments.

•

Mandatory Certifications & Licensure:

o OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required). o Current CPR / First Aid Certification (trainer designation preferred). o Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

•

Technical Mastery:

o Strong working knowledge of construction safety standards and codes (NFPA, NESC, ASTM, ANSI). o Proven experience managing subcontractor compliance and conducting formal safety walkthroughs.

•

Core Competencies:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities; ability to exercise authority calmly and effectively in fast-paced field environments. Preferred Attributes

• Professional safety certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), such as CHST, OHST, or CSP.

• Prior experience managing safety programs on large-scale civil, industrial, or commercial construction projects.
