JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Employee Safety Supervisor and the Chief Administration Officer, the Safety/Security Technician will provide a safe, healthy, and secure work environment by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This position reviews, evaluates, and analyzes job safety duties and procedures to eliminate, control, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomics. The position also protects employees, visitors, property, and facilities by monitoring access, conducting security patrols, responding to incidents, and documenting security-related activity. This position will assist in safety training, write incident reports, and perform other accident, loss prevention, and security duties. Support and ensure compliance with all programs, policies, and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Fulfill assigned food safety and regulatory responsibilities in accordance with the SQF Food Safety Code, including promptly reporting any concerns to initiate corrective action. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and
EOS. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities below. Other duties may be assigned. Item % of Time Job Functions 1 30% Safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions: Perform scheduled safety inspections in all departments and outside areas. Send out required reports of findings and assign them to department supervisors for corrective actions. The report is to be maintained/followed up on to report all corrections made. Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict efficiency or safety. Conduct compliance audits in the following areas as needed by Safety Supervisors scheduling: portable fire extinguishers, emergency eyewash stations, power industrial vehicle (PIV) operations, emergency exit routes, and emergency exit lights. 2 25% Security operations and access control: Follow security procedures to monitor facility access through key control for entry and exit doors and office doors. Monitor motor vehicle operation (stipulate where vehicles can operate and park) and parking policy. Maintain logbooks of daily activities including visitors, customers, and contractors entering through the turnstile and gates. Review cameras as needed and maintain physical security systems. Verify facility access, manage visitor credentials, and maintain entry records and key control. Patrol the facility and report unsafe or suspicious conditions. Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and security systems; report alerts and preserve records as needed. Enforce security, parking, traffic, prohibited-item, and emergency procedures; assist employees and visitors. 3 20% Incident response and investigations: Respond to security and emergency incidents and coordinate with management and first responders. Complete daily logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs while maintaining confidentiality. Work with the HR department with regard to Food Defense audits and Surveillance/HR investigations. Assist in conducting accident and incident investigations to determine causation factors. 4 15% Employee injury response and corrective-action support: Work with the Employee Safety Supervisor to coordinate the necessary medical treatment for Kagome's work-related illnesses and injuries. Assist and/or administer first-aid to employees for work related injuries and illnesses. Transport injured employees to a medical facility if needed. Work with Employee Safety Supervisor to review observations for training, refresher training, engineering out hazards. Follow up on corrective actions to ensure implementation. 5 5% Safety meetings and certification: Attend Safety Committee meetings. Maintain CPR/First Aid Training Certification. 6 5% Food safety, continuous improvement, and other duties: Support and ensure compliance with all programs, policies, and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Fulfill assigned food safety and regulatory responsibilities in accordance with the SQF Food Safety Code, including promptly reporting any concerns to initiate corrective action. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and EOS. Perform other duties as assigned. 100% Total
POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Internal Contacts:
KFI Management, Supervisors, Production Personnel, Maintenance, Quality and Logistics department's employees.

Customers, contractors, vendors, visitors, and temporary employees. KFI Safety team
Education Level:
Associate degree in occupational health. A combination of college courses and experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. EMT/First responder/Security/OSHA-30 experience and/or certification.
Years and Type of Related Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years Occupational Health & Safety experience and accident investigation, preferably in a food production environment.

Physical Demands:
Occasional bending, stooping, climbing of ladders and stairs, fine finger movement, grasping/handling, neck flection/extension, twisting, reaching forward or overhead, and moving objects up to 40lbs. Periodically walking, sitting, and standing. Ability to hear radio communications and make visual observations within the workplace.
Work Environment:
Working in both an office environment with moderate noise levels and in production areas with high noise levels with hot, cold, and humid conditions. This is a Safety Sensitive position.
Special Equipment Used:
Specialized Computer based software, PC, 10-key calculator, fax, radio, alarms, diagnostic tools, and telephones. AED resuscitator. Job tasks and procedures may change as needed.
