This includes administering safety training, employee health awareness, compliance with safety regulations and procedures. They will administer and assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of environmental health and safety programs, procedures/practices necessary to provide for safe and healthy working conditions for employees and to help operate the facility in an environmentally responsible manner. Job Responsibilities & Duties Typical duties include but are not limited to: Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness. Maintain a positive working relationship with the AFW management team. Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters. Conduct New Hire Orientation and facilitate tours. Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or preventative measures. Report on health/safety awareness, issues and statistics. Train employees and managers on all AFW safety policies and procedures. Continue to monitor compliance of safety programs. Provides continual training to team members with an emphasis on safety and service. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Conduct safety audits and inspections, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and job safety analysis. Ability to solve complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of best practices for safety. While providing guidance to others and acting as a subject matter expert to less experienced team members. Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner. Able to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends. Able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. All training provided by AFW. Other duties to be assigned/directed by supervisor. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Job Requirements Previous experience as an environmental health and safety coordinator or similar role preferred. Knowledge of AFW safety policies and procedures including to but not limited to LockOut/TagOut, Hazcom, PPE, and Fall Protection. Experience working and knowledge of building maintenance, fire suppression, and alarm systems preferred. Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance. Excellent organizational and motivational skills. Professional with strong interpersonal skills. Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. Must be able to travel to multiple facilities on a daily basis. Flexible schedule to meet training, development or project deadline requirements. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED is preferred.; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.
