Job Description

Job Summary The EHS Specialist ensures CHawk's adherence to federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations while developing and maintaining environmental management systems. This role monitors compliance activities, conducts assessments, administers the company's EHS training program, and serves as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and industry partners. The EHS Specialist develops strategies that meet and exceed regulatory requirements and position CHawk as a leader in environmental and workplace safety matters. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to) Regulatory Compliance Monitor and interpret environmental and safety regulations, including EPA, Cal/OSHA, and state environmental laws Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections of facilities and operations Develop and maintain compliance tracking systems and documentation Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies Manage environmental permits and ensure timely renewals Support RBA audit readiness and maintain supporting documentation Programs and Continuous Improvement Develop, create, and implement environmental and safety policies and procedures Maintain the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) in accordance with Title 8, CCR Section 3203 Identify opportunities for improvement and develop action plans for the team Follow up on assigned actions and manage implementation through to completion Investigate environmental and safety incidents and develop corrective action plans Manage waste management programs, including hazardous and non-hazardous materials Oversee air quality, water discharge, and soil contamination monitoring Training Administration and Delivery Develop, create, and deliver environmental and safety training programs for employees at all levels Maintain the EHS training matrix, identifying required training by role, department, and site Schedule and coordinate training sessions, including new hire orientation, annual refreshers, and role-specific certifications Enter and maintain training records in the company's training and HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness Track training completion and expiration dates, and issue reminders for upcoming or overdue requirements Maintain training documentation, sign-in sheets, certifications, and evaluation records in audit-ready condition Assist supervisors and leads in delivering department-level and on-the-job training Evaluate training effectiveness and update content as regulations, processes, or equipment change Support multi-site training coordination across CHawk's domestic and international locations Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance, EHS, or regulatory affairs Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA Experience developing and delivering workplace training programs Experience maintaining training records and compliance documentation Proficiency with environmental monitoring equipment and software Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to a general audience Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Preferred Experience with environmental management systems (ISO 14001) Familiarity with Cal/OSHA requirements and California-specific environmental regulations Experience in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience supporting RBA or similar third-party audits Physical Requirements and Work Environment Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments. Requires the ability to walk the production floor, wear required personal protective equipment, and occasionally lift up to [25] pounds. Occasional travel between CHawk sites may be required.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
