This role supports compliance with Cal/OSHA , EPA , and California manufacturing regulations, proactively identifies and mitigates risks, and partners with internal teams to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree or above in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent hands-on EHS experience may substitute for education.
Experience:
Minimum 3+ years of EHS experience in U.S. manufacturing (General Industry). Experience in California-based facilities preferred. Ability to travel internationally as needed.
Certifications:
OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record Current CPR/First Aid certification Core Responsibilities Conduct routine compliance audits in accordance with Cal/OSHA, EPA, and local regulations; identify risks and drive corrective actions Perform daily safety inspections, equipment checks, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA); oversee high-risk operations Lead EHS onboarding and recurring training programs; monitor PPE usage and coordinate occupational health programs Manage hazardous materials and hazardous waste in compliance with California Title 22 regulations Develop and maintain emergency response plans (e.g., fire, chemical spill, injury) and organize regular drills Investigate incidents and environmental events; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Maintain EHS documentation and ensure timely regulatory reporting (e.g., emissions, hazardous waste, injury reporting); support inspections and audits
Required Skills Regulatory Knowledge:
Strong understanding of Cal/OSHA, EPA, and California compliance requirements
Field Execution:
Ability to identify and control risks in manufacturing environments (machinery, electrical, fire, noise, chemical exposure, etc.)
Documentation:
Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred; strong report writing and recordkeeping skills
Systems Knowledge:
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
standards and audit processes
Technical Tools:
