$40.38 to $42.31 Job Overview The Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental (EH&S) Specialist works collaboratively with cross functional partners to advance and improve Blue Diamond Growers' safety & environmental management systems and culture. The EH&S Specialist is a leadership resource for continuously improving regulatory compliance programs, owning and driving best in class EH&S key performance initiatives. Responsibilities Partner with the site EH&S Manager and cross-functional leaders to establish, communicate, and execute measurable safety, environmental, quality, service, performance, and culture goals. Implement, measure, sustain, and continuously improve site and organization-wide EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and key performance indicators. Lead risk-reduction initiatives based on assessments, facility observations, hazard trends,incident data, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement priorities. Conduct routine facility walks, health and safety assessments, audits, and inspections; identify and professionally address hazards, at-risk behaviors, and regulatory nonconformances. Support incident response, including first aid, triage, transport, investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and required injury and illness documentation. Administer occupational safety programs, including hearing conservation, respiratory protection, industrial hygiene monitoring, and ergonomics, while maintaining accurate records. Conduct or coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic evaluations at Blue Diamond Growers sites, engaging qualified third parties when appropriate. Develop, deliver, and support EH&S communication and training programs that educate employees on occupational safety, environmental practices, and regulatory requirements. ?????? Coach EH&S champion teams, facilitate meetings, promote positive recognition and corrective coaching, and build partnerships that strengthen the site safety culture. Lead and support environmental compliance activities, including audits, inspections, permit monitoring, policy implementation, training, and liaison responsibilities. Champion site sustainability initiatives focused on energy conservation, waste reduction, and responsible environmental performance. Review EH&S records for clarity, accuracy, completeness, and policy conformance; provide responsive service to internal and external customers and serve as the onsite EH&S leader when the manager is absent. Minimum qualifications Bachelor's Degree. 5 years of health and safety leadership experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree. Proficiency in MS Office programs, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Investigative and analytical skills required. Experience and ability to identify unsafe conditions and practices and propose solutions utilizing the Hierarchy of Controls. Ability to complete Workers' Compensation injury and illness documentation Work Environment This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions.
