Job Summary Responsible for the overall EHS compliance. Implements procedures and programs to minimize environmental, health and safety (EHS) risks and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements Job Responsibilities Responsible for EHS Compliance at Gilroy and San Martin site. Responsible for coaching, training and supporting operations in executing Daily Fundamentals. Build strong relationships with managers and employees on EHS and act as a resource. Assist in coordination, planning and facilitating training seminars. Travel and Support two facilities. Educate staff via weekly safety trainings in English/Spanish. Assist in Incident Management including Near Misses, Hazards and Accidents. Coordinate/lead Safety Committee meetings monthly. Weekly coaching on Lockout/Tagout and procedural audits. Performs weekly/monthly/annual inspections at each plant and documents completion in Riskonnect. Analyze trends and perform root cause analysis for incidents and develop and follow up on corrective actions. Learn and understand site specific machinery to identify safety zones and develop procedures for safe operations. Recognize safety hazards or unsafe work practices and develop Corrective Action Plans. Assist site management as needed with various EHS and production related projects. Communicate and escalate issues with leadership timely. Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed. Job Requirements High School diploma or GED or equivalent training, experience, and education. Must have a Valid CA Driver's License. Minimum 2+ years of experience in manufacturing.
Excellent interpersonal skills:
ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and managers. Working knowledge of OSHA 10, California State and EPA regulations. Ability to read, analyze and interpret plant safety procedures, professional journals and technical manuals. Excellent communications skills, verbal, written, in-person and by telephone. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills. Ability to take initiative and work independently. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Bilingual - English & Spanish preferred. Knowledge of environmental permitting and compliance.
OSHA 30. HAZWOPER
certified. RCRA certified. CPR, First Aid, AED certified. While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and fingers to use a computer and keyboard. Must wear company provided personal protective equipment - earplugs, hard hat, safety boots/shoes, and protective glasses. Candidates must provide their own safety boots/shoes upon hire and will be eligible to participate in Safety Boots/Shoe Reimbursement Program after 30 days of employment.
