Department Safety Opening Date 06/25/2026 Closing Date 7/24/2026 5:00 PM Mountain Position Summary, Duties and Responsibilities Assist with routine safety-security checks and monitoring of Apex Park and Recreation District facilities and recreational areas. Support staff in implementing and adhering to safety and security protocols. Report safety concerns, hazards, or security incidents to the Emergency Services Manager or Safety Coordinator and/or MODs promptly. Support crowd control and visitor flow management during organized events or high-traffic periods. Provide a visible presence to promote a safe and secure environment, assisting visitors as needed. Support program staff during activities, ensuring safety-security guidelines and Apex code of conduct are followed. Conduct basic safety and security inspections of equipment, facilities, and common areas. Assist with maintaining safety signage, emergency contact information, and safety resources. Support the organization and distribution of safety-related materials or information. Participate in safety-security training and drills as directed. Maintain clear and professional communication with staff and visitors. Enforcement of facility rules. Job Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment and provide courteous assistance to visitors. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Basic knowledge of safety practices, emergency procedures, and security protocols. Dependable, attentive to detail, and able to respond calmly in various situations. Physical ability to perform routine inspections, patrols, and respond to minor incidents. Education and Experience Basic knowledge of safety practices, emergency procedures, and security protocols. Some experience with EHS, Safety, or Security is appropriate. HS Diploma/GED, some college, or BA degree is preferred. Experience with youth and/or adult sports is helpful. Work Environment Physical Abilities Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies. Work Environment Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity.
