An Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Specialist completes workplace and equipment inspections and implements workplace safety rules and programs. Provides occupational safety training for employees. Investigates and reports on potential hazards or accidents that occur at the workplace.

Required:
Must be 18+ years of age. Must be a US citizen. Must be able to successfully pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check Must be available to work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday Must be available for a minimum of THREE (3) weeks between December 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027; this requirement does not include Wednesday, December 23, 2026 through Friday, January 1, 2027. Pursuing the following - Bachelor of Science degrees to include: Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences Occupational Safety and Health Industrial Hygiene Environmental Health and Safety Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences (OEHS) Masters Degrees degrees to include: M.S. Occupational Safety & Health Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in: Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Safety and Health or Toxicology M.S. Safety Management M.S.
Environmental Health and Safety Preferred:
Familiarity with OSHA safety and health standards or environmental regulations. Strong interest in safety and/or industrial hygiene fields, or Strong interest in occupational sciences/engineering and how environmental regulations apply in the shipbuilding environment. Strong interest in a shipyard trade or construction environment. Candidates must support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind GDEB culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
