Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and vigilant Fire Watch professional to provide immediate overnight safety oversight at construction or industrial sites. This vital role ensures compliance with fire safety regulations, monitors for potential hazards, and maintains a secure environment during critical operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to public safety, ready to respond swiftly to emergencies and uphold all fire codes and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to site safety and protection around the clock. Duties Conduct continuous fire watch patrols around construction sites or industrial facilities during overnight shifts to detect fire hazards or unsafe conditions. Monitor and inspect sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and other fire safety equipment for proper operation and compliance with NFPA standards and local building codes. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protection during inspections and emergency responses. Perform construction inspection tasks related to fire prevention, including checking for flammable materials, ensuring fire code compliance, and verifying adherence to life safety building codes. Maintain detailed logs of all inspections, observations, and incidents; document any deficiencies or hazards for immediate correction. Respond promptly to alarms or emergency situations following established emergency response procedures; coordinate with local fire departments as needed. Assist in public safety education efforts by providing information on fire prevention inspections and fire safety best practices. Skills Strong knowledge of fire codes, NFPA standards, the International Fire Code (IFC), and local building code requirements. Experience with system design related to fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and fire apparatus operation. Construction inspection expertise with a focus on fire prevention measures and building code analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation purposes. Familiarity with hazmat procedures, hazardous materials handling, and construction experience related to fire safety. Supervising experience in overseeing safety protocols on job sites or within teams is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members, contractors, and emergency responders. Knowledge of emergency response procedures, alarm system sales (fire alarm sales), and public safety education techniques. Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high vigilance for potential hazards.
