Job Summary We are seeking energetic and vigilant Overnight Fire Watchers to join our team immediately! In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining fire safety and ensuring building security during overnight hours. Your proactive approach will help prevent fire hazards, monitor fire alarm systems, and enforce safety protocols to protect property and personnel. Duties Conduct continuous fire watch patrols of construction sites, buildings, or designated areas during overnight hours to identify potential fire hazards or safety violations. Monitor and inspect sprinkler systems, fire alarm panels, and other fire safety equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with NFPA standards and local fire codes. Enforce building code compliance and life safety building codes by inspecting for hazards related to construction or ongoing projects. Operate fire apparatus and emergency response equipment as needed, following established procedures for fire prevention and safety. Document all inspections, observations, and incidents thoroughly in shift reports; escalate issues promptly to supervisory staff. Assist in public safety education efforts by providing guidance on fire prevention practices and emergency procedures. Support the enforcement of OSHA regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, respiratory protection protocols, and hazmat handling procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in security operations, construction inspection, or fire safety roles is highly preferred. Knowledge of system design related to fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, alarm system sales or fire alarm sales is advantageous. Familiarity with building code analysis, NFPA standards, International Fire Code (IFC) compliance, and fire prevention inspections. Demonstrated supervisory experience or leadership skills in overseeing safety protocols or team coordination. Strong understanding of emergency response procedures, public safety education techniques, and fire prevention strategies. Ability to operate firefighting equipment such as fire apparatus and sprinkler fitting tools confidently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to document incidents clearly using Microsoft Office tools; customer service orientation is a plus.
