Role Overview:
The Sanitation Team Member plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of Wilder Market's back-of-house, equipment, and facilities. This role supports all aspects of sanitation, dishwashing, restroom upkeep, and daily cleaning routines, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and creating a safe and welcoming environment for both team members and guests.
Responsibilities:
Sanitation & Cleaning Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, smallwares, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize prep surfaces, hot bar equipment, and café/juice bar equipment according to daily sanitation procedures. Conduct regular sweep and log walks to maintain cleanliness throughout BOH and FOH areas including the kitchen, sales floor, café/seating area, receiving, and check-out area. Support restroom cleaning and restocking throughout the day. Maintain mop stations, chemical storage, and janitorial areas in safe and organized condition. Food Safety Compliance Follow all sanitation SOPs and adhere to food safety regulations. Ensure proper chemical use, dilution, and labeling of all cleaning supplies. Maintain sanitation logs and complete daily/weekly cleaning checklists. Report any equipment maintenance or safety issues promptly. Team Support Work collaboratively with the Culinary Team Leader, Prep Cooks, and Leads to keep BOH operations running smoothly. Assist in trash removal, cardboard recycling, and general waste management. Provide support during deliveries and storage organization as needed.
Requirements:
Previous dishwashing, janitorial, or sanitation experience preferred (grocery, café, or foodservice environment). Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures; ServSafe or similar certification a plus. Ability to work efficiently, stay organized, and manage repetitive tasks with consistency. Team-oriented, reliable, and detail-focused.

Physical & Schedule Requirements:
Flexible scheduling required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and be on feet for entire shift (8+ hours). Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly. Comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, and humid environments.
