Range Safety Officer:
Santa Rosa Shooting Center has an immediate opening for a Range safety officer, This is a part time position Friday through Sunday 9am to 5pm. We need someone with experience who is a good communicator, works well with others, and has a strong understanding of gun safety and calling the range Hot/Cold. The position requires an NRA certification, which can be obtained online. A Gun Range Safety Officer (RSO) is primarily responsible for supervising shooting activities, enforcing strict safety rules, and assisting patrons. They ensure compliance with all operational regulations, conduct range briefings, and intervene immediately in the event of an emergency or unsafe condition.
Core Responsibilities Safety Enforcement:
Monitor the firing line continuously to ensure all shooters follow standard operating procedures and firearm safety rules
Range Commands:
Lead or clearly communicate range commands (e.g., "Commence Firing," "Cease Fire") and manage emergency "Cease Fire" procedures.
Customer Assistance:
Assist patrons with range orientation, loading/unloading firearms, target placement, and clearing malfunctions or stoppages.
Facility Oversight:
Conduct pre- and post-range safety inspections, maintain equipment, and ensure the facility is clean and free of hazards.
Documentation:
Complete incident reports, maintain shooter logs, and report any rule infractions or facility maintenance needs to the Range Master.
