About Decks & Docks Decks & Docks is a leading marine construction supplier of waterfront building materials, serving contractors, homeowners, marinas, golf courses, and resorts across 25+ states. From decking and piling to seawall materials, railing systems, and dock hardware, we're proud to be the essential link between wholesale dealers and the backyards, docks, and waterfronts our customers are building. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Fleet Manager to help keep our delivery operations running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. About the Role Decks & Docks Co is seeking a motivated Field Safety Specialist to join our Kennesaw, GA branch as an Assistant to the Corporate Safety Officer. This position is based out of our Kennesaw location, with frequent nationwide travel to other Decks & Docks locations to support the companywide safety program. In this role, you will work closely with corporate safety leadership — conducting branch inspections, supporting crew training, and helping ensure every branch meets our safety standards and applicable OSHA regulations. This is a great opportunity for a safety-minded professional to grow into a larger corporate safety role. Key Responsibilities Support the Corporate Safety Officer in implementing and maintaining companywide safety policies and procedures at the Kennesaw branch and other branch locations Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of branch locations, equipment, and installations to identify hazards and ensure OSHA compliance Assist in developing and delivering safety training for branch personnel, including onboarding for new hires Document safety observations, near-misses, and incidents; assist with investigations and corrective action reporting Monitor proper use and maintenance of tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE) at branch locations Maintain accurate safety records, certifications, and compliance documentation for the branch Serve as a communication link between branch personnel and the Corporate Safety Officer, escalating concerns as needed Support internal and external safety audits and help prepare related reports Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in occupational safety preferred 2-3 years of experience in construction, field services, or a related safety support role preferred OSHA 10-Hour (General Industry) certification required; OSHA 30-Hour (General Industry) preferred (or willingness to obtain within 60 days) Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in documentation Valid driver's license and clean driving record Travel is required; must be able and willing to travel frequently and nationwide to other Decks & Docks locations to conduct inspections, training, and investigations as needed (company vehicle provided) Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand/walk for extended periods at branch locations Proficiency with basic computer software (Microsoft Office) for reporting and recordkeeping What We Offer $60,000-$75,000 / year, commensurate with experience Company vehicle provided for business travel Health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance Paid time off and holidays A clear path for growth within Decks & Docks Co's corporate safety team
