Job Overview The EHS Specialist is responsible for establishing and operating the safety, health, and environmental management systems of the manufacturing facility and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal company standards. This position identifies and mitigates hazards and risks in production areas to prevent occupational accidents and illnesses, fires, chemical incidents, and environmental pollution. Duties Identify applicable requirements under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and other relevant environmental and fire safety laws and regulations and monitor the facility's compliance. Develop and implement workplace safety and health management plans, environmental management plans, and annual training and inspection schedules. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of production equipment, manufacturing processes, and facilities. Develop preventive and corrective action plans for occupational accidents, near misses, fires, chemical leaks, and environmental incidents. Identify, investigate, and analyze workplace hazards and risk factors. Conduct safety and health training for new employees, supervisors, and other employees, including regular, ad hoc, and special safety training. Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures, safety rules, emergency response procedures, and safety and health policies and guidelines. Supervise and control high-risk work activities, including machinery inspection and maintenance, electrical work, forklift operations, material handling, and work at heights. Manage the workplace chemical inventory, Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS), hazard warning labels, and chemical handling requirements. Support the management of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods, including regulatory notifications, permits, inspections, and mandatory training. Coordinate and manage workplace exposure monitoring. Manage general and special medical examinations, including pre-placement medical examinations. Manage permits and the operation of local exhaust ventilation systems, air emission facilities, wastewater discharge facilities, and pollution control equipment. Manage the storage and outsourced disposal of designated waste, waste organic solvents, waste chemicals, and general industrial waste. Manage hazardous material storage areas, fire protection systems, emergency exits, and evacuation routes. Conduct EHS reviews for new equipment, chemicals, processes, and changes to production-line layouts. Respond to inspections conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Environment, local fire departments, and other relevant regulatory authorities. Support customer EHS audits and ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
certification audits. Perform other safety, health, and environmental duties assigned by the company. Skills A degree in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred. At least five years of experience in safety, health, and environmental management within a manufacturing environment. Certifications such as Engineer Air Pollution Environmental, Engineer Water Pollution Environmental, Industrial Engineer Hazardous Materials, or Engineer Fire Protection System are preferred.
