Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Regional Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support the implementation and administration of our safety programs across multiple locations and job sites in (AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS). This role plays a critical part in promoting a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating training activities, supporting incident investigations, and helping employees return home safely every day. The ideal candidate is passionate about safety, highly organized, and enjoys partnering with field operations, installation teams, and business leaders to reduce risk and improve workplace safety performance.Responsibilities:
Responsible for the implementation and administration of company EHS policies, procedures, and programs. Lead company initiatives focused on injury prevention, hazard identification, and continuous improvement. Partner with operations leaders to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable state and local safety requirements. Coordinate and maintain EHS documentation, records, and compliance files. Support fleet safety. Inspections and Audits Conduct facility, warehouse, vehicle, and job site inspections. Identify hazards and work with operational leaders to develop and track corrective actions through completion. Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections. Incident Management Support the reporting and investigation of workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, near misses, and property damage events. Gather documentation, witness statements, and supporting evidence. Track corrective actions and monitor completion. Maintain OSHA logs and incident records as required. Training and Employee Education Coordinate and track required EHS training programs and certifications. Facilitate new employee safety orientations. Create content and support toolbox talks and safety meetings. Support safety alerts, lessons learned, and best practices throughout the organization. Compliance and Reporting Maintain accurate training, inspection, and compliance records. Prepare monthly and quarterly safety performance reports. Track key safety metrics, trends, and action plans. Support compliance activities, permits, and reporting requirements as assigned. Field Support Partner with field leaders and employees to promote safe work practices. Provide guidance regarding company safety procedures and expectations. Travel to company locations and customer sites to support safety activities and assess compliance. (Up to 60%)Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, or related degree and 7 years of EHS experience, or 10 plus years' experience in EHS. Proficient in Construction OSHA standards and workplace safety principles. Knowledge of workers' compensation and incident management processes Proven ability to influence leaders and build relationships across all organizational levels. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to travel as required. (Up to 60% within the region.) Preferred OSHA 510 and 500 Certification. First Aid/CPR certification. Experience supporting multi-site, job site, or multi-state organizations. Experience in service, installation, construction, logistics, or field operations environments.
