POSITION SUMMARY
Pepper Construction Company is looking for qualified, intelligent students with a passion for learning about safety in the construction industry to experience life as a Safety Professional with a commercial general contractor. Safety is our first priority, and we are committed to taking the steps necessary to protect our people and to the continuing effort of striving for an accident-free workplace. The Safety Intern position will play a role in developing and promoting our Pepper Safety Culture. This position is primarily field-oriented and is structured to ensure safe work practices are implemented and enforced on all Pepper Construction projects.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Current college student entering their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year studying Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Safety during the 2026/2 school year.
- Good communication skills - verbal and written
- Strong computer skills that allow you to learn and understand new technology and put it into practice quickly
- A confidence that allows you to work independently but a desire to be part of a team and work collaboratively in it
- Skilled at multi-tasking, but never taking your eye off the details that can change the outcome
- Must have reliable self-transportation to and from the Illinois offices, jobsites and other work related activities
