FIre Sprinkler System Inspector

Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fire Sprinkler System Inspector and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of fire suppression systems across commercial and industrial properties. In this energetic position, you'll conduct thorough inspections, verify system integrity, and uphold the highest standards of fire safety regulations. Your expertise will help protect lives, property, and ensure adherence to all relevant codes and standards. Duties Perform detailed inspections of fire sprinkler systems, to ensure proper operation and compliance with NFPA standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, and construction drawings related to sprinkler system design and installation. Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment. Verify building code compliance by inspecting installation quality, verifying schematics accuracy, and ensuring adherence to fire codes and regulations. Document inspection findings accurately through detailed reports; identify deficiencies or potential issues requiring corrective action or repairs. Collaborate with clients to provide excellent customer service by explaining system status, maintenance needs, and compliance requirements clearly. Assist with fire sprinkler system installation, service technician tasks, and system upgrades as needed to support ongoing safety initiatives. Skills Proficiency in blueprint reading, electrical blueprint interpretation, schematics, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for system design review. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with construction inspection experience related to sprinkler systems and fire alarm installations. Knowledge of NFPA standards, fire codes, and building code compliance requirements. Ability to troubleshoot engineering issues related to fire sprinkler systems using sprinkler fitter experience and engineering troubleshooting skills. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, sensors testing equipment, and other field service tools for installation and maintenance tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Construction experience or service technician background preferred for understanding complex systems within diverse environments. $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
