PUBLIC SAFETY
(UA-PSIA-IUINA) Department Information Indiana University (IU) Public Safety pursues the university's commitment to providing the greatest degree of safety for all members of the IU community, consistent with the university's mission and environment, applicable legal and professional standards, and available resources. IU Public Safety directly oversees areas including the IU Police Department, Emergency Management and Continuity, and Fire Safety and Loss Prevention, operating with a team of approximately 300 dedicated staff on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year operational basis across all campuses. Job Summary Performs building inspections to ensure compliance with all state of Indiana adopted fire, building codes, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Resolves code issues during construction phase, and maintenance issues. Performs monthly inspections on fire extinguishers, sprinkler control valves, fire alarm panels, and kitchen hood systems. Conducts fire pump testing, fire system acceptance testing, and real estate building inspections. Works special events, including football and basketball games, which may occur outside of normal working hours including evenings and weekends. Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required High School Diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE

The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
