POSITION SUMMARY
- Part time Monday
- Friday 6am
- 11am, Training 7am
- 12pm, May require monitoring calls coming in after hours.
SCHEDULE AND COVERAGE
Monday through Friday. Changes to the window require Head of Safety and Compliance approval. The responsibilities in this description are performed within scheduled hours. This role carries no after-hours, weekend, or emergency line coverage. Driver calls and texts received outside scheduled hours route to the Safety Lead. Within scheduled hours, driver contact reaching the Safety Lead directly is redirected to this role. Time-critical matters arising outside scheduled hours are carried by the Safety Lead. This includes permits needed for a load in motion, Do-Not-Dispatch release requests, and any accident or roadside event. An end-of-shift handoff to the Safety Lead is required on any open item with a next-day consequence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the first point of contact for drivers by call and text. Drivers reach this role first whenever it is on shift; matters beyond the authority set out below escalate to the Safety Lead. Run oversize and overweight permits and contact drivers for permit information. Verify and audit paper and electronic logs; report flags and escalate inaccuracies and Do-Not-Dispatch matters to the Safety Lead. Process and update periodic inspections, monthly maintenance, registrations, CDLs, and medical certificates in McLeod, and file physical documentation. Mark drivers and equipment Do-Not-Dispatch when documentation is missing, and escalate to the Safety Lead for follow-up. Switch equipment in McLeod upon driver notification; add and delete drivers and equipment. Review applications and run MVR, PSP, and Clearinghouse reports, filing the results for the Safety Lead to adjudicate. Prepare onboarding documentation and set up lease agreements. Schedule orientation and drug testing with Concentra. Run Form 2290s and submit plate documentation to IRP. Maintain safety inventory and report shortages. Prepare items for Driver Pickup. Maintain the recurring trackers that feed the Safety Lead's weekly and monthly reporting.
