Job Description
Job Summary College of Science | Purdue University | West Lafayette, Indiana The Department of Chemistry is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Lecture Demonstration Coordinator to support engaging classroom experiences and foster a strong culture of safety. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the lecture demonstration facility, including coordinating equipment and supplies, developing and maintaining demonstrations, managing department audio-visual resources, and supervising undergraduate assistants. This position also serves as the department's Safety Coordinator, working closely with the Department of Safety & Sustainability Office and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to promote compliance, sustainability, and safety awareness across the department. What We're Looking For Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related area At least two (2) years of chemical safety experienceSkills Required:
Familiarity with safety regulations for proper handling of chemicals and safe practice in chemistry laboratories is required Highly organized and able to plan ahead Able to: manage student staff and schedules collaborate with faculty for the development of new demonstrationsPreferred:
Sufficient knowledge of Purdue chemistry course content to be able to initiate new demonstrationsAdditional Information:
