Part-Time OEND/ Safety Staff Specialist Job description

Summary:

Commonwealth Land Trust (CLT) provides permanent supportive housing and social services to individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness, substance use disorder, as well as physical and mental health conditions. Working under the Senior Harm Reduction Specialist, the part-time OEND/Safety Specialist will support CLT's harm reduction and safety initiatives across all sites and within vulnerable communities in the Boston area. This role focuses on promoting public health, reducing overdose risk, and strengthening connections to harm reduction resources and services . Position Overview The Part-Time OEND/ Safety Staff Specialist will support CLT's harm reduction and safety initiatives across all sites and within vulnerable communities in the Boston area. This role focuses on promoting public health, reducing overdose risk, and strengthening connections to harm reduction resources and services . Key Responsibilities Conduct routine sweeps of CLT sites and surrounding areas to safely collect and properly dispose of used syringes in accordance with public health and safety protocols. Coordinate prompt delivery of collected syringes to designated needle exchange programs to support safe disposal and build strong relationships with harm reduction agencies. Support overdose (OD) prevention efforts, including intervention strategies and education. Assist in developing and implementing individualized harm reduction service plans (ISP) for participants. Provide ongoing follow-up and engagement with residents and community participants. Train, educate, and assess new residents and community participants on harm reduction practices and safety protocols. Restock harm reduction supplies across all CLT sites and coordinate needs with medical case managers. Support street outreach efforts, including engagement with unsheltered individuals and high-risk populations. Stay current with and implement updates to Department of Public Health (DPH) protocols related to outreach and harm reduction services.
