Occasional overtime may be required Position Summary The Sanitation Team Lead assists the Sanitation Supervisor with organizing, coordinating, and directing the daily activities of the sanitation department. This position provides leadership to sanitation team members and assumes responsibility for the department in the supervisor's absence. Qualifications Knowledge of sanitation procedures and sanitation task analysis. Knowledge of sanitation chemicals and their proper and safe use. Ability to perform all sanitation positions and duties. Previous sanitation experience, preferably in a food manufacturing or production environment. Leadership or team lead experience preferred. Knowledge of GMPs, PPE requirements, and workplace safety procedures. Ability to work varied hours and overtime as required. Ability to lift and/or handle up to 35 lbs. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Duties & Responsibilities Inspect production, storage, office, restroom, exterior, and parking areas to determine sanitation needs. Organize and direct the daily activities of the sanitation team. Direct Sanitor I and Sanitor II employees in their daily duties. Distribute sanitation tools, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. Ensure sanitation chemicals are properly and safely used. Perform sanitation assignments as necessary due to employee absences. Assume responsibility for the department in the Sanitation Supervisor's absence. Ensure compliance with all plant safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Monitor sanitation supply needs and usage. Report discrepancies, safety concerns, sanitation issues, or incidents to the Sanitation Supervisor. Ensure assigned sanitation duties are completed properly and on time. Help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
